COMMUNITY REQUIRES
A safe SPACE

How are we able to create a safe community?

We set out to create a place where survivors and their families can learn, share, collaborate and have community. This is no easy task, but we are committed to ensuring safety in the following ways.

Read Only Website
This website is open to the public, but will not contain chatrooms, comment sections or external posts. Visitors will have the ability to contact The TBI Project with comments or suggested topics but not in a public forum.

Partner organizations
We want to be open to survivors and their families, and will safeguard this space from others who intend to take advantage of this community. To ensure the safety and annanemity of the community, we are relying on a system of referals. The TBI Project has relationships with multiple organizations and support groups. Persons wishing to be part of any shared communication will only be allowed if they are refered by one of our many trusted partners.

Safe Conversations
Commumity happens through group conversations and social gathering opportunities.
The TBI Project does NOT intend to create that space here on this site. Instead, they are created and maintained on a more local format. Community Groups will be formed within existing TBI support groups.  This provides the most reliable vetting process for new members.
Additionally, many support groups already have conversations happening on multiple platforms. We do not intend to change that, but instead provide another tool for these groups to collaborate if they choose. If a Community Group has a topic or article they wish to share, they will be able to reach out to The TBI Project and may become a future post on the site.

Personal Information
If a visitor would like to receive the newsletter, they can ask to be placed on the mailing list and remove themselves at any time. We will only ask for an email address and require no additional information. Emails will never be shared or sold.
If there is a need for any additional personal information, it will only exist within the Comunnity Group.

Newsletter and Events
We will never use photos or specific event locations for any gathering. General information will be mentioned and additional information will be made available only through an email request to that event coordinator.
